Polarization Imperfections of Light in Interferometry

Disertační práce pojednává o polarizačních nedokonalostech optických komponentů, které jsou využívány ke kontrole a k transformaci polarizačního stavu světla. Získané teoretické výsledky jsou pak využity ve vybraných aplikacích, jež ke své činnosti využívají právě polarizace světla. Konkrétně se jedná o zařízení měřící vibrace oscilujících objektů, dále o interferenční měření dvojlomu v transparentních materiálech a konečně, o vybraná témata z optické kvantové komunikace.The emphasis of the dissertation is put on the investigating of polarization imperfections of optical components which are used to control and transform polarization of light. The theoretical results of this investigation are then applied to different applications which exploit light polarization, namely to the arrangements for high-resolution measurement of vibrating targets, to interferometric measurements for the determination of stress-induced birefringence in transparent materials and to the selected topics in quantum optical communication.

Connection interface design for virtual laboratory

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na popis programování 3D aplikací v jazyce C++ pomocí OpenGL. Zaměřuje se jednak na obecný popis vlastností OpenGL s příhlednutím na jeho možnosti při využití tvorby vitruálních laboraotří. Dále je práce zaměřena na popis možností načítání extrerních souborů pro použítí v OpenGL.Cílem projektu je praktická realizace vitruální 3D laboratoře a podrobný popis její tvorby.This bachelor project deals with a description of 3D application programming in C++ language using the OpenGL. It is focused on a general description of features of OpenGL taking account of its capabilities for programming the virtual laboratory. Further, the work aims to describe loading external files for use in OpenGL. The goal of the project is a practical realization of the virtual 3D laboratory and a detailed description of its creation.

Historical development of piston internal combustion engines

Tato bakalářská práce má za úkol charakterizovat základní etapy vývoje pístových spalovacích motorů pro aplikaci v dopravních prostředcích. První část práce obsahuje seznámení s problematikou těchto motorů, jejich základní členění a popis a prvopočátky jejich vývoje. Druhá část práce je zaměřena na současné trendy ve vývoji a směr, kterým by se mohly spalovací motory v budoucnu ubírat.This work aims to characterize the basic stages of development of piston combustion engines for use in vehicles. The first part contains familiar with the problem of these engines, their basic structure and description and the beginnings of their development. The second part is focused on current trends in the development and way the combustion engines could proceed in the future.

Design and implementation of journal bearing test rig

Diplomová práce se zabývá konstrukčním návrhem a následnou realizací experimentálního zařízení pro testování kluzných ložisek. V první části práce je provedena rešerše současného stavu poznání v oblasti testování kluzných ložisek a koncepce podobných testovacích strojů. V druhé části je popsána koncepce zařízení. V třetí části práce je popsána konstrukce variant, které při konstrukčním návrhu vznikly. V rámci diskuze, je pak z variant vybrána finální varianta a výběr je komentován. Náplní poslední části práce je ověření funkčnosti zařízení na základě prvotní sady testů.This diploma thesis is dedicated to mechnical desing, fabrication and assembly of experimental bearing testing rig. First part of the document contains research of current knowlege in the field of bearing testing and desings of currently used machines. In second part is conception of the testing rig described. Third part contains description of design variations that were designed. In Discussion is comented choices of final variants. Last part is dedicated to functional verification of the whole testing rig by first series of the tests.

Meta-Learning in the Area of Data Mining

Tato práce popisuje možnosti využití meta-učení v oblasti dolování dat. Popisuje problémy a úlohy dolování dat, na které je možné aplikovat meta-učení, se zaměřením na klasifikaci. Obsahuje přehled technik meta-učení a jejich možné využití v dolování dat, především v oblasti selekce modelu. Popisuje návrh a implementaci meta-učícího systém pro podporu klasifikačních úloh v dolování. Systém používá statistiku a teorii informací pro charakterizaci datových sad uložených v bázi meta-znalostí. Z báze pak vytváří meta-klasifikátor, který predikuje vhodný model pro nové datové sady. V závěru jsou diskutovány výsledky získané experimenty se systémem s více než 20 datovými sadami reprezentujícími klasifikační úlohy z různých oblastí a uvádí možnosti dalších rozšíření projektu.This paper describes the use of meta-learning in the area of data mining. It describes the problems and tasks of data mining where meta-learning can be applied, with a focus on classification. It provides an overview of meta-learning techniques and their possible application in data mining, especially  model selection. It describes design and implementation of meta-learning system to support classification tasks in data mining. The system uses statistics and information theory to characterize data sets stored in the meta-knowledge base. The meta-classifier is created from the base and predicts the most suitable model for the new data set. The conclusion discusses results of the experiments with more than 20 data sets representing clasification tasks from different areas and suggests possible extensions of the project.

Evaluation of Course Object Evacuation at Evacuation Drill

Objektová evakuace je ovlivňována různými faktory, které mají vliv na její průběh. Pro zefektivnění evakuace, zejména se značným počtem osob, je žádoucí provádět evakuační cvičení. Může se jednat o cvičení ohlášená, o kterých jsou osoby v objektu předem informovány, nebo se mohou provádět neohlášená cvičení, se kterými osoby obeznámeny nejsou. Tento příspěvek se zabývá vyhodnocením neohlášeného evakuačního cvičení, které proběhlo ve vybrané budově se shromažďovacím prostorem. Cílem příspěvku je na základě vyhodnocení průběhu cvičné evakuace poukázat na nedostatky evakuačního procesu a navrhnout možné postupy, které by tyto nedostatky mohly minimalizovat.Building evacuation is infl uenced by various factors, which infl uence its course. To streamline the evacuation, especially a substantial number of people, it is desirable to conduct evacuation drill. It can be a workout announced on whom people in the house are informed in advance, or can be carried out unannounced drill with which people are familiar. This paper deals with the evaluation unannounced evacuation drill, which took place in the selected building assembly area. The aim of this paper is based on an evaluation during practice evacuation point out the shortcomings of the evacuation process and suggest possible courses of action that could minimize these shortcomings
